What Is It?

Myalgia is the medical term used to describe pain or discomfort in one or more muscles. Muscle pain can affect a small, specific area or multiple parts of the body and may range from mild soreness to persistent pain that affects normal movement.

It can develop suddenly after intense physical activity, exercise, lifting, or an injury. In other cases, muscle pain may gradually develop due to repetitive movements, prolonged poor posture, muscle tension, overuse, or reduced mobility.

People experiencing myalgia may notice aching, soreness, tenderness, stiffness, tightness, or discomfort when moving or touching the affected muscle. In some cases, muscle pain may also be associated with weakness or reduced flexibility.

Dark-Coloured Urine After Severe Exercise: Severe muscle pain or weakness following intense exercise, especially with unusually dark urine, requires urgent medical evaluation.

Symptoms Getting Worse: If muscle pain becomes progressively worse or begins to significantly limit your normal activities, do not ignore it.

Treatment for myalgia depends on the possible cause, affected muscles, severity of symptoms, activity levels, and overall health condition.
